The day so far.
Mar. 11th, 2009 04:20 pm1) Slept in! That was very nice for a change. I needed the rest, too, since I mostly didn't sleep the night previous. Did my presentation in class yesterday evening, which worked out well, and got back my English final, which I rocked by getting a 4.0. Granted, it wasn't designed to be hard, just thorough. Still. I bought a cookie in celebration and Ate It. Nom nom nom. Espresso chocolate chip, as it happens. It was nummy.
2) Vacuumed my living room! It could use a slightly more thorough treatment, but at least it feels less grotty now. There are other things what need doing, like more laundry, more dishes, more dusting, et. al., but it's a small step. I followed that up by brushing Rosie, who is shedding like you wouldn't believe. I need to give her a bath, but I think that's going to be tomorrow.
3) Went to the university and talked to the advising office. As it turns out, when you enroll as an evening degree student, the default major unless you choose something else is Humanities. English requires application, which I did and got into the department. I did not, however, drop the Humanities major. I meant to, actually, but forgot. Well, as it turns out, all I have to do is be somewhat careful in what I pick up for the electives I have to choose for my English major, and I can come out as a double major in the same amount of time. I think it sounds like a plan. It certainly feels more like I got something worthwhile out of all those incomplete years of schooling. :)
4) Dropped off my registration for the Spring semester.
5) Went by the bookstore and picked up some paper for the printer, some rulers for the kids because somehow the ones I buy for the house evaporate, and some tax software (finally). I will be running my taxes this afternoon and finding out what the bad news is then. Think good thoughts for me.
The one thing I meant to do today but haven't is go to the gym. If I don't make it to the gym, though, I still feel fairly satisfied, especially given the walking and stairs and stuff I did hiking all over campus this afternoon. I'll try to make it out there this evening, but if it waits until the morning I won't be heartbroken. Taxes are a somewhat bigger deal.
