I'm a damned fool.
Mar. 10th, 2009 12:07 amSo I'm behind time in getting this project done for my communications class. Easy peasy, I thought. One of the options is to make a project that talks about the history of advertising in communications technology, and I though, hey! My mom and dad made their living in communications technology! So I called up Mom a few weeks ago and, sure enough, she still had clippings of all the old ads they ran when they opened up a new cable system in a new town. Thus a project was born. Also, instead of writing a paper, you can build a website! My work here is nearly done, I thought, and thus a project was born.
Today I took all my clippings to get them scanned into a useful electronic form. This I ended up doing at Kinkos, because some of the clippings were full newspaper pages and I wanted to get the whole page for context. The bill was... erm... higher than I expected, but I covered it anyway. After all, at this late date (it's due tomorrow) I can't be picky, right?
I finally get the kids to bed, stick the disc in the computer, and get ready to load the images into the site... only to discover for the first time that they saved every damn one as PDF files. I didn't specify a format... I just figured they'd just, I don't know, an image format?
You can all laugh at me now.
