I am NOT HAPPY.
Apr. 3rd, 2009 02:15 pmSo as far as we've been able to figure out, my sons have a neighborhood friend who lives with his grandma on the weekend, which means he's around to play then. So three weeks ago the boys went over to his house for the first time and slept over, and then the next weekend he came and slept over here. A few days after the first sleepover, Alisdair said that his head was itching, but I didn't think anything of it. I thought maybe he was having an allergic reaction to something.
It was no allergic reaction, however, unless lice biting you counts as an allergy.
Lice never even occurred to me. His dad just changed doctors for them to one closer to his side that takes his amended insurance (his planned changed so their former clinic near me no longer did) and I stil don't have his name or contact information. I asked him three times to set up an appointment, but it never worked out. A week ago, Will's head started itching. Two days ago, mine did. (I let Al sleep in my bed when he was having problems falling asleep.) That's when I put it all together.
Now everyone's had pesticide shampoo, all the beds have been stripped, I've got a mountain of stuff to wash, and I'm perturbed at this turn of events. Thankfully neither Will nor I were that badly affected, but Alisdair was much worse off -- my fault for not seeing it sooner, I guess. I am not as generally pissed off as I was upon realizing this this morning, but it's still bloody annoying. Grump.
