1) My dad had a recent, largely unexplained turn of ill-health, but he seems to be doing much better. Even stranger, though, his pain levels have dropped off sharply -- like, no extra pain meds, no complaints about hurting.... all of it. It's amazing. He's still recovering, but Mom isn't worried about having to give up her job anymore. It's a good thing.

2) The house is mostly deloused. My youngest is still having some issues as he wouldn't let me do his hair last night, but my oldest and I are in good shape. Nearly all the textiles in my home have been washed to within an inch of their life.

3) Skirt needs a waistband and a hem and it's done. Got the zipper in today. Go me. It is imperfect -- I needed 60" fabric, which I didn't have, so I maneuvered things around to fit on 45" plaid fabric but I had forgotten just what a pain plaid is, so some pieces just don't line up quite right. I wish it were perfect, but overall I think I'll live. It could be a lot worse, especially since the fit really isn't half bad. Go me.

4) I have guests coming this week! [livejournal.com profile] innocent_man and [livejournal.com profile] ladycoyote are coming into town and I'll be playing semi-official hostess while they're here. I admit I'm really looking forward to the visit. Good stuff.

5) I've picked up some contract work that will be a good thing. I have to finish the work I currently have, though, which I'm running very much behind on. Argh.

6) Getting back on track with the diet thing. Managed to cut out most of the sugar yesterday, then had sort of a craving freakout and realized what it was, so I ate a few cookies and then I felt better and was done with that. I did not, however, buy a soda. Go me.
