Why yes, I'm cribbing [livejournal.com profile] innocent_man's format hardcore, why do you ask? :)

Today's initial stab at character creation starts with WoD: Innocents. I was fortunate enough to be asked to work on this book. I enjoyed it immensely, even if I did end up totally wussing out and flaking on part of the assignment (though it was able to be reassigned without pushing everything back too badly). I had reasons. I've been largely forgiven by the people who mattered. Life goes on. I'm really pleased with how the book turned out, though. I can take very little credit for it, but the crew put together to work on this thing really made it sing. I don't think it gets nearly as much love as it should, frankly; I guess the idea of playing kids is pretty foreign to a lot of people. It really works, though.

The Game: World of Darkness: Innocents.
The Publisher: White Wolf
Degree of Familiarity: Wrote parts of it.
Books Required: The Innocents book actually covers everything I needed for character creation. You might use the core WoD book for reference if you go very far afield during actual play, but this is really a complete game in and of itself.

Cut for the sake of my friends list. )

So. Remember that parent-kid baseball game? Well, as it turns out, my exemplary performance was part and parcel to me wrenching my lower back to that it was pretty painful to move. Very inflamed. Yesterday I ended up getting my first massage in a really, really long time in hopes of breaking up some of that inflamation, which it did. Of course, I'm really sore to the touch now, but I'm moving far better and have a lot less general pain. This is a very good thing, though it did eat up some money I'd not been planning to spend right then. I'm going to be a bit more skint for the Origins trip than I'd been planning. It's still doable, mind you, and I'll have money by the time I return, but it's just one of those things. I think it means the haircut/color gets put off until next month, damn it. Oh well.

I have now less than a week until I go on vacation, and still a number of things to take care of. I have a ride to the airport, though, and someone to take care of Rosie. If nothing else, at least that much is done.

I got my grades back. 3.75 for the quarter. I'm slightly disappointed, but shouldn't be. It's still an A, after all. I may have unrealistic expectations. :) That said, I was sloppy this quarter and I know it. Got no one but myself to blame if I didn't perform up to my expectations.

Have a lot of work to catch up on today. Yesterday the power was out at my house, so I just skipped out and spent the whole day working on paper and generally running errands and such to keep busy. Not bad, but something I have to make up for. This afternoon I'm meeting my friend Misty. It's been a while since we got together, and it'll be good to catch up again. In the meantime, though, I've got stuff to do.
