I have an unusual need for a Halloween costume for this year, as there's a party being held by a coworker to which I've been invited. It apparently has a space theme, which means that my trusty SCA garb is out. (I'm not doing Ivanhoe In Space!, thanks). However, a new acquaintance came up with a great idea: Kaylee from Firefly!

I think I could pull off Kaylee. I've got the hair for it, in any case. No, I'm not doing the layer cake dress -- I haven't got the time or money to pull off that particular bit of sewing mastery in any case. I can come up with some overalls and a shirt and some boots, though, I think, and I can probably even tailor them a bit to fit a bit better.

So, yeah. Kaylee. :) I feel all cos-play-ish, but I'll get over it. It's better than Barbarella or an Uhura outfit. *grin*

That's a super idea! Kaylee's the best. You can always grab a Chinese style jacket from a thrift store too. :)

I think you should go as Space itself! Wear all black, attach the styrofoam balls that have been painted like planets.

Then you could look at the hot guys and go "Space...the final frontier" (with a come-hither look).
