A few different things happened this weekend.
1) Talked to Tarisse about songs for her wedding. I may end up singing at the reception instead of the ceremony, which is fine with me. Top two candidates for the song right now are "Answer," by Sarah McLachlan and "Our Love Is Here To Stay" by literally hundreds of singers, though the cover I provided to T. was by Natalie Cole.
2) Remembered I have to go purchase Beowulf from the university bookstore tomorrow. Oops. Ah well, better than forgetting altogether.
3) Finished a sort of short story I'd been working on recently. This trend of starting and finishing writing is a good one.
4) Talked with my mom. She was worried I wouldn't be eligible for unemployment, which is not the case. Things are scary but not entirely dire at this point, and it became clear I won't be doing the worst case scenario, which is moving away from Seattle, before I get my degree in any case. This is in its own way a sort of relief, because at least it eliminates possibilities. If I can't run, then I will have to find ways to make the best of things here, whatever that involves. Mom and Dad are willing and able to help me out a little bit, which is really kind of them. I didn't ask, either -- they offered. More along the lines of "oh, and I've sent you a check." I may complain every now and then, as every child with parents must do from time to time, but it's worth stating for the record that my family is awesome. Just in case that had not previously been made clear. Living with them again might drive me nuts, but that's no reflection on them. It's all on me.
