eurydicebound: (Me!)
Okay. So the other day I discovered that I had actually gained a couple of pounds back -- not as in monthly weight, but as new all-the-time weight. I realized today taht I've gotten to where I have the money to invest a little in my diet, so I'm back on the wagon for tomorrow, going back to Phase 1. This way I can get it out of the way and back to Phase 2 before I go to Origins, as being on Phase 1 (no carbs to speak of) during Origins would not only suck, it would be doomed to failure. I probably will not do very well during Origins regardless, but I think with some careful planning I can get through.

I have successfully cut cokes back/out again, so that's good, but I really want to keep losing weight, so I took the book with me to the grocery store today and bought accordingly. My children will be deeply annoyed thanks to the things I'm not buying (breakfast cereal they like, for example), but they'll live and I'll do a lot better for not having snack foods or bad-for-me foods around.

Tonight I'm allowed to not worry about it too much, which is basically what I'm going to do. I'm not going to bring home anything that's bad -- no leftovers, etc. -- but if I don't adhere strictly while I'm out, I'm not going to beat myself up.

Sounds like very sensible planning on all fronts. Best wishes with it!

Keep up the good work--and don't succumb to the breakfast cereal demands!

Breakfast cereals are a horrid culprit of bad eating habits. (And a doorway to more poor food choices) Thankfully Geoff's two are very accepting of us leaning to healthier choices. Imagine my surprise when the eldest expressed a like for my cereal - the no frosting version of Mini Wheats! When we do our weekend special brekkie (French toast with cream, syrup & sugar) its seen as a huge special treat. :)
