eurydicebound: (off-kilter)
So. Job interview this morning for a short-term contract position. It could be a good thing. I'd be happy if they offered it to me, I think. Doesn't come with benefits, but I guess I'd live. The wrost thing is that my tags were expired and I hadn't had a chance to renew them yet. I did it today finally, but not before a cop caught me. He wrote me the tickets but then he also told me how to get out of them, so I guess that's something. After the interview, I had gelato with Brannon, went down to Pike Place Market and got some cheese at Beechers, and then walked back to the car. From there I got a couple of errands done and then made it to Al's 5th grade graduation. I did not cry. Nope. Not a bit of it. Sigh. After that it was another errand and picking up a movie for Will to watch, and then back home -- for another 15 minutes or so until it's time for his practice tonight. Man, I am so tired today. My back is killing me, I've got no energy, and I really want to sleep. I haven't really eaten well today... I tried to get food on and off, but not being home and not having time really screwed with my ability to.... well, do much of anything. I haven't broken down and had a soda yet, so I guess that's somehting. The worst of it is that I think I strained my back playing ball with Will the other day. It's been aching on and off since then, getting a little worse day by day. Last night I slept badly and it's really hurting today, and I'm not really sure why. I do know I'm not happy about it and I'm actually worried it may go out for the first time in years. I probably should go see the chiropractor -- if it gets worse, I will tomorrow morning. I've taken some ibuprofen and I think that if I can get some rest tonight, it'll be better. At least I hope so. In the meantime, though, I'm vaguely down as it doesn't look like my dad's going to be leaving the VA home, my son's getting all grown up, my back is killing me, and I'm really freaking tired. Good thoughts are sorely welcome.

*hug* I send you good thoughts: I hope your back starts feeling better. Also, glad the cop helped by telling you how to get out of the ticket. (Of course it would have been even nicer if he hadn't written the ticket in the first place, but I'm guessing his video camera was on and he didn't want to risk someone yelling at him for not giving it to you.)

I unloaded a bunch of stuff today at a friend's, who'll be doing a yardsale tomorrow, and drove her around to take care of some errands. I also had an awesome day yesterday, and was so very gratified to see a friend and one of my favorite authors rescued from financial disaster thanks to an awesome internet horde coming to buy books from her.

So, as generally crappy as things are with the economy and whatnot, there are still good things happening around you: may some of that goodness reach you, too.

Oh, my dear....

Don't follow my lead. Expired reg gets very expensive very quickly. :)

Hrm...good thoughts...
*crosses fingers, hoping you get the job*

I get to Roadtrip in July up to WA to visit my sister. Whoo-hoo!
