It's a meme. People are doing this meme everywhere. It is universal, and thus I refuse to claim I stole it from anyone. It's been a long time since I've done it, though, and my procrastination urge needs material to work with. These questions are from

1. Where is your favorite place you've lived, and why?
Oh lord. I admit, I enjoyed Chicago. I would have happily stayed longer except for that whole kids eventually going to school there and not finding work and stuff. I think I love Seattle best of all, though. The social thing still kicks my ass from time to time, but I really do love it here. It's gorgeous, it's got a fabulous arts scene, you can (ordinarily) write for a living here, the schools are good, the restaurants are fabulous, I love the city itself... there's just a lot of good stuff. There's less good stuff too, but most of it is really good.
2. Name the goofiest thing that you're into -- the thing that would even make you pause talking about in front of other geeks.
Oh dear. Honestly? Really bad romance novels. And I mean super cheesy, terrible writing, bad romance novels. Not the ones where the women get accidentally pregnant or the vampires sparkle (even I have limits), but most of the rest of them. There's also a specific fondness for Regency historical romance novels. Or even ones set in Scotland, bad dialect dialogue and all. Realizing that I can now read these things on my iPhone and not carry them around? Priceless.
3. If you could change one thing about the games industry, what would it be?
The ability to make a living wage AND have a decent work week.
4. Name your dream project.
Getting my head around comic scripting and working on a line for Vertigo. I know, I know. :) Still, a girl can dream.
5. Sounders or Mariners?
Sounders. I love going to a Mariners game, don't get me wrong. The team is cool, the park is great, and there's something about clam chowder in a bread bowl while you cheer for your team that's fantastic. And up against that, I haven't even been to a Sounders game. I can't get tickets, for one, and this being the year of unemployment would have made it a poor idea even if I could. But I love Kasey Keller, I love watching Fredy and Freddie... there is, frankly, nothing I don't like about the Sounders except that they tend to choke away from home. But still. It's the first year. And Kasey's looking at staying for another year! Yay!

Date: 2009-11-06 02:10 pm (UTC)From:2. The circus mistress costume originally worn for WFLRP and recycled for an NPC in Vampire. Black velvet corset with gold buttons and braid added on, black flowy trousers with a black and gold spangled wrap tied at the hip, very high shoes, black top hat with gold braid, whip and court jester's cane. Several of the boys emailed post-sessions to say how absurdly hot I looked--they didn't want to tell me in person 'cause
3. At one point or another during my teenage years I carried torches for most of my male friends, until I learned that telling them I had a crush was usually enough to shatter it. But the one who really put me through the emotional wringer was Jon Peters. My crush started when I was a junior and he a senior, taking Physics together. Then the following year we happened to get jobs at the same place, and since I didn't have a car, sometimes he'd give me a lift home in his black Saab convertible (old hand me down from his parents). We spent a lot of time together at work and were the youngest people there, so the crush flourished until one afternoon when we were on our own and he asked me for advice about a girl he really liked. I stammered a reply and turned redder than anything--which was enough for even a clueless teenage boy to work it out. He felt awful, I felt awful, and I think I skipped work for a day or two to cover it.
4. When I met Mr Wilson, he was Mr Lamb--he took my surname when we got married. I had just come to Cardiff to do my MA, and having been at Edinburgh for a semester as an undergrad, I pretty much knew the routine for meeting people was to go to an event in the first week called Fresher's Fair to sign up for clubs and things. There, I found out where the first meeting of the gaming society was, and at said first meeting I met Greg. He was looking for people to play a Buffy game, and when the girl he had a crush on decided not to play because she wanted to join the Pagan society instead, I got her spot. How convenient! I remember him being tall, pale, quiet but friendly--he and his housemates were among the friends I made fastest that year.
5. Wallet, lipstick and keys. Everything else varies.
