There are rules if you want questions of your own. See my previous post for them. Now more questions, these from [livejournal.com profile] tfbretz.

1. Do you think your life would be significantly different if your boys were girls?
Um.... yes, I think so. I know people who think that there's no real difference between the two (and anything boys can/will do, girls can/will do, etc.) and I agree with that on a very basic level. But really... boy personalities and girl personalities are different. Maybe it's one of those 10% difference things, but that 10% is notable and important and you better address it as a parent. If nothing else, being the same sex parent of my children would be a lot different than being the opposite sex parent of my children, especially as we approach puberty. Whole different set of encounters and behavior to model, there. Not to mention, well, puberty.

Frankly, I think a lot about gender and equality and how these things function in the world. It's hard enough to raise boys in this environment. I can't fathom raising a girl -- which I'd be able to do a lot better if I'd had girls, but I didn't, so it's a moot point. It's definitely a daunting prospect, though.

2. Is there any author whose books you dislike so much you wish they had not been written?
Um... not that I can think of off hand. I don't really ever wish things hadn't been written. I don't think there is such a thing as the Necronomicon of fiction or whatever. I do think some things are reprehensible, etc., but the act of putting those words or thoughts or terrible sentences into storage media and making them generally available doesn't usually hit me as the source of the problem.

3. Sushi or pizza?
In practice, pizza. In theory, sushi. Pizza's just cheaper and both my sons like it, but I'd do sushi a lot more often if I could. That said, I don't really like sashimi. All rolls, all the time for me.

4. Have you ever encountered a ghost?
Nope. I've been in freaky situations, but I've never encountered anything I can definitively point at and say, "yep, there's a ghost."

5. Tell me of your dice. Mere tools or boon companions? Do you use whatever works or are you picky about color/composition/etc.?
Tools. Pretty, sparkly, purple/blue/green tools, but tools. I like them to be colored. In theory, you'd think I'd own red dice, but I can't seem to find red dice I like. I bought some sort of peacock-colored dice at Origins this year, with an iridescent sheen to them that I like very well. They were the first new dice I'd bought since my divorce, when most of my dice stayed with the collection and went with the ex. It's all about the baby steps. :)
