Thing 1 -- I'm having a game day birthday party on February 13th. Board games, cake, and Texas-style BBQ will be in attendence, along with dishes brought by attendees (and recipes if they'd like to share, so I can have it with me wherever I end up later this year). Arkham Horror is planned at the very least. It'll run from roughly noon to 9 or 10 PM (when they kick us out of the room I've got reserved at a friend's apartment complex). Evites are going out this week. If you're local and would like to be included, please respond here, including an email if you have reason to believe I might not easily be able to lay hands on it.
Thing 2 -- Con plans for this year. I'm going to Norwescon as a panelist, in theory. Going to Origins and GenCon this year as well. This is, I think, more conventions than I've been to in one year in a really long time. Should be fun, though. :) Karaoke is planned at Origins, at the very least. Oh and this year I want to have dinner with some people. Seriously.
Thing 3 -- In the next two days I have to finish my paper revision/addition and mail it off. That will make the final thing for the last of the three grad school apps I sent off. From there I just get to be all casual and see who accepts me and what sort of financial packages (if any) they toss my way. "Oh, that's right, I applied for grad school! I remember now...." Heh. :)
Thing 4 -- I got my sons' insurance card last week. Today we had their eye exams and got their glasses ordered. Tomorrow I have a job interview and a phone call regarding some part-time contract work. I also will be calling their dentist and seeing if he takes their insurance. I also got my son's prescription filled after a month of no pills, for which I have to congratulate myself. This was some serious hustle to get that done, and I'm proud of myself. Now I just have to figure out how to pay off my doc and see if I can get back in to get my blood pressure script reissued without putting myself too much further in the hole.
Whew. That's a lot. Think good thoughts for me.
