Will: Curling is weird.
Al: Curling is awesome.
Will: But it's weird!
Al: I'm not saying it's not weird, but it's still awesome.
Me: It was invented in Scotland about 600 years ago, you know.
Al: Back in feudal Scotland, right?
Will: Sliding stones across ice? You wouldn't think they would have been that creative.
Al: They throw big logs! You really think that they wouldn't slide stones?
Me: *laughing* You've got a point.

Date: 2010-02-22 04:52 pm (UTC)From:As for why, in part you can thank NBC, who's devoting all their spare time on MSNBC to in-depth curling coverage. Whereas in past iterations it got almost no coverage, now it gets a station practially all to itself, much as they're doing with hockey and CNBC.
And don't worry, we're taking my curling-admiring child to a mini-camp next weekend to feed his curiosity and possibly addiction. Dinna fret. :)
