Comment if you'd like a color (or colour). Then list ten things that you like/love which are that colour (or color).

This is from [livejournal.com profile] anidada, but she's not the first one I've seen do it. She was just there at my moment of weakness. :)

Okay, so the color I have is silver. Silver? Yes, silver. Argent, if you prefer.

1) Silver crayons. Those and the gold ones were my favorite. All about the bling, baby. *grin*
2) My Macbook. Sooooo shiny.
3) Quarters. Quarters are pretty cool, especially since they've done the state ones. You never know which one you'll get.
4) Silver jewelry. I have some gold, but I pretty much just wear silver when I wear it at all.
5) The sun shimmering on water.
6) Moonlight on a dark, clear night.
7) Abalone shell. It is so silvery. Ahem.
8) Other people's silvery-grey kitty cats.
9) Silver bells. :)
10) The silver in my hair. As dark as it is, it tends toward silver highlights anyway unless I color it in some fashion. Now that I've got some non-brown hair coming in, it's all silver, which makes me happy. I know, that sounds odd, but it really is silver, not grey or white, and that's actually kind of cool, not to mention that if you don't look too closely, it just looks like highlights given my normal hair color. Could be a lot worse.

Purple. I love purple.

Color Meme

My color of choice would have to be Orange:
1. My husband is a red-head, he himself is the best shade of orange.
2. My car, the "Howitzer" is a beautiful metallic burnt orange. He looks like he's moving even when standing still.
3. My kitchen is also orange, mouth-wateringly so.
4. Fire. Mesmerizing in warm shades of orange, yellow and red.
5. Hydrangea AB Crystal Necklace - I custom designed a sterling silver chain accented with orange and AB crystals.
6. Orange "Beauties" - an indulgence of the past.
7. Blood Orange Soda - on rare occasions, my favorite soda. It tickles the tongue with a spicy aftertaste.
8. Candles - I have many orange candles that glow beautifully when lit.
9. Mandarin Orange Body Spray - light and refreshing, energizing and somewhat sweet.
10. Oranges - good for eatin', tossin', smellin', juicin' and so much more!

HULK SMASH!

Green! If you're choosing the Hulk, after all, we should stay in theme.

In point of fact, I don't have a favorite color - hence the Hulk smashing. Technically yes, I do enjoy the color red the most. But remember, I'm red-green colorblind. So while I do enjoy the color; I enjoy what I see and what no one else can. ☻

I had no idea you were colorblind. How interesting. :) Well then, should you be interested in participating, I'll dub thee Black.

Done!
What were the rules again? Receive thy color and then give a top ten that represents, yeah? Actually you want me to list things that I like or love. But I'm expanding this to "things that come to mind" if that's alright by you.

This should be fun because I generally relate color to emotions anyway. And my color is (as just posted above): Black, the amalgam of all colors.!

1) Magicians. While they aren't necessarily "black" per say, they tend to wear a lot of it, and they generally exploit darkness, blind-spots and the color black to create their awesome illusions.

2) Poetry. While not all poetry is dark, it tends to be the darker ones that catch my ear. Somehow, for some people, pain becomes a muse for their creativity. They write poems, create stories, and paint all to their suffering. Some of it is emo, I'll admit, but there is a lot that speaks to the human condition albeit the the darker half of it.

3) Depression. Yes, I was one of those teens in high school who felt very depressed. No special reason or anything. I was just geeky, alone, and I had very few outlets for my needs. Besides that, I went to a very close-knit school, and that environment didn't suit me well while growing up. There was no way to disappear; no way to blend, and that hurt.

4) Midnight walks. Ever danced with the Devil in the pale moonlight? I can't say I have, I just like the line. Besides that I like to walk. I can think more clearly when I walk. I can work out my frustration when I walk. And when I walk all alone in the middle of the night I am like a king, because no one is there to challenge that, and that thought has brought a laughing smile to my face ever since I was very young.

5) The vast reaches of space. There is something special that pours through the mind when we contemplate how insignificantly small we are to the titanic forces and bodies that blanket the universe. All those worlds, stars and galaxies separated by a vast ocean of black nothingness that is far greater than our brains can actually conceive. It is humbling, to say the least.

6) Unknowable fear. Have you ever been woken from such a state of deep sleep that you are disoriented for a minute or two? This happened to me 4-5 years ago during the summer. I was asleep when a loud clap of thunder woke me up with such a bang that I was truly and terribly frightened beyond belief. Not knowing who I was or where I was, combined with the dancing light from the successive flashes, creating horrible images and shadows on my walls, created such fear inside I had never known. The fact that I actually hid under my covers, holding my head tightly, my eyes closed tightly, with tears streaming down, proved that event actually happened when I found myself in that state as my senses, memory and mind all returned

7) Death. This one is obvious. Most cultures associate black with death. Some venomous snakes and insects are black. Ninjas wore black to conceal themselves in the darkness, but being assassins that color was closely linked to the death they dealt.

8) Sex. Lights on or lights off? Both are good, yes, and sometimes you don't get a choice. Sometimes a good cuddle in the dark turns into more, and the next thing you know you're seeing through the darkness with your other senses, and this can be even better than sight. You feel more sensitive, more aware of, your sense of touch, taste and the rest. So much so you can really appreciate all the other things going on that you may have missed due to the visual stimulus that the light provides.

9) Conclusion. I didn't want this as #10 as that would seem cliche. When things end: movies, TV shows, your day when you can finally sleep, life, the day when the sun goes down - there is black darkness. Black has a way of saying, "that's all there is."

10) Wisdom. Think about this a second, I've been wrapping my brain around this for years. If white is innocence, purity and the reflection of all colors. Then the exact opposite color being black, by virtue of being the absorption of all colors, must be experience and and knowledge. People with too much knowledge have been traditionally outcasts i.e. they know black magic, or retain black knowledge. And we naturally think that black = evil, but in that same instance it could just mean that they know more. How they use that knowledge should determine them as good or evil, but not knowledge by itself.
