So basically, as soon as I found out what my address was going to be up here, I sent off my new voter registration. It was mailed by September 20th, and the due date for the postmark wasn't until early October. Things should be fine, right?
So David and I show up today and are not on the lists at all. We go ahead and fill out provisional ballots, which will be counted as soon as they determine that we're registered -- and who knows how long that could take. There's really nothing more I could have done, but I'm biterly disappointed at the result. I can only hope that they were so overwhelmed with new registrants that they just hadn't gotten to my registration yet.
In the meantime, if you haven't voted, let me add my voice to the chorus in exhorting anyone within earshot to do so. If I was not able to vote, then anyone who IS able darn well ought to take advantage of it.
