Well, I succeeded in heading off my nascent migraine, and now I only have a suck-ass headache to deal with. It's just enough to make me squinty and vaguely pale and somewhat ill feeling, but not enough to actually send me home or keep me from working -- and that's after the meds I took. *whimper*

Also, I have realized I'm lonely. Between illness and not really coming up on anyone's radar, I haven't seen any friends in ages. My co-workers aren't friends yet, and it will require a lot more time for things to really cross that line, I think. Really great guys and girls, but not really needing more additions to their personal circles. In theory there are games I could get into, but in reality, that's not so much the case. Most of those are closed or invitation only, and no invitations have thus far been forthcoming here. Or rather, there was one, but it ended up folding fairly early on, damn the bad luck.

I could in theory run a game for people here at work, but I am ashamed to show off my lack of handy rules-fu to the designers of the games we'd likely be playing in person. It's a bad, bad thing when everyone at the table knows more about the system off the top of their head than you do, and you're the DM.

So... I need a game to play in. A nice social structure to let me get over being shy and get to know people, not to mention just have fun roleplaying. More to the point, I need to do things without David, so that it won't all fail due to babysitting or relationship problems or whatever. If anyone knows of anything or thinks something might be forthcoming, let me know. A note: I'll be out of town next weekend, and David's at drill during the days this weekend. (Bruce, I dunno if you're planning on trying to pick up the game again or not once you're feeling better, or if Chris is still interested, but if so, I'd still enjoy playing. Not trying to bail, just working on finding something useful to do with myself.)

I'd really like to pick it up again, and feel like i'm still mending. But having a game less dependent on my health would be nice.

*hug*

Well, I'm up for it whenever. It would be nice to not have that as my only option, is all.

I have a playtest group that meets every other Sunday (not this coming one, the other one) to fiddle with my home brew system and later (hopefully) settings. We are, however, in Olympia. Drop me a line if interested.

The other Sunday is Ars Magica, but we're pretty full at the moment.

We game fairly regularly, you're welcome to join us. :)

Use Doc Cross's solution: All game systems default to Toon rules if you run them fast enough.
