Last week I chaperoned my son's class trip, in which we all went downtown to the main library building. For anyone who hasn't seen it, let me show you:

Oh my god. It's so cool. I could move in there, that's how cool it is. I'm willing to take the bus all the way down there and all the way back. That's how cool it is. I'm willing to drive my car down there, park three blocks away, and walk up hills that make my calves ache three days later. That's how cool it is. I had wanted to visit it since I learned I was moving here, and that was my first time. The only thing that might have improved the experience was if I could have stayed for a whole day, by myself, without kids. Even so, the kids were very good. Have to say, though, as much as I love my son, the reason I chose this particular time to go with him was because of the library.
If you can be in love with a particular building, I am SO there. Happy sigh.
