Household updates

1. Climbed halfway up Mount Laundry this weekend. Got two or three loads folded and put away, even, making a space in which I could lay out my sweater to dry flat. Yay me. No longer the messiest.

2. Had small family birthday celebration for Alisdair. He thinks his new AT-AT is v. cool. I was more chuffed by getting cake there in one piece. Friends had annoying houseguest who's hopelessly in love with host -- quite unrequited, too. Painful to watch. Oh well. Managed to not leave messy giftwrap behind.

2a. William and Alisdair had auditions. Drove them across the lake to have them sing. Will is to try again in the spring, while Alisdair will start early prep class again. Got to eat at Zesto's and have fish. V. nice. Yay me.

3. Got out chicken I'd brined in cider on Sunday and am roasting it tonight. Considered doing the whole mess, with spicy sweet potato wedges and such, but settled for making mac and cheese instead for kids. Takes too long. Might just have cake for dinner, but haven't decided yet. Sigh. Will says I'm the prettiest. Yay me!

Folded.... folded.... I'm confused by the use of that term as applies to laundry. You mean you don't just leave it lying in the dryer? ;)

Well, typically it does stay in the dryer, or rather piled on top of the dryer. I'm experimenting with the ancient art of origami as applies to clothing, however. Look, a pterodactyl....
