So Alisdair comes home today and shows me this piece of paper with something stapled to it, grinning at me. It takes me a moment to piece together what it is, when suddenly I realize that it's a pair of tickets to something. Turns out he won the drawing his school library had for the Seattle Sonics "Read to Achieve" program. The prize? Two tickets to tomorrow night's preseason game against the Phoenix Suns.
Now, this was met with mixed reactions, as Alisdair is happy to go but doesn't care all that much about basketball or the Sonics, while Will is a huge fan of both, and there are only two tickets. I've got a call in to the Sonics office to see what can be done about procuring an extra, but the Magic 8-Ball says "Unlikely." Even if I could get another ticket, the odds of it being in the same area are slim to none, AND they're pretty damn pricy--and I wasn't planning for one or two more tickets in the budget at the moment. I've prepped the kids accordingly, so that Alisdair and Daddy will get to go to the game and Will and I will go out to eat at his choice of place, then go do something fun. They seem content with this. Let's hope it lasts. :)
But yeah. Kudos to my kiddo for winning the tickets. I'm very happy for him.
