The D&D2 movie is So. Bad. Not bad in a train wreck sort of way, like the first one. It's not a "competing with Sean Connery in an orange diaper and suspenders" sort of bad. It's the "Dear God, it's not just my gaming group from college, it's my GAME!!!!" sort of way. I mean, really. The Gamers was a tongue-in-cheek take on a gaming session, with in-jokes and everything. This is played straight up serious. This is what every game turned into a movie would look like. This is something my son would worship and see it totally as The Bomb, now at 8 years old. My inner 8 year old sees the appeal, while my grownup wrestles for control of the remote to find something, anything else on.
Wow.
I'm probably going to get the DVD, just for my sons.
And then I'll hide while they watch it.
Or better yet, I'll give it to their dad. :)
