I am... not fond of D&D Online. I wanted to be. I've been trying to be. But so far it just isn't happening. I hate the UI. I hate having to group with people I don't know. I hate being trapped at 1st level. I hate that my machine can't run it without LAGGING everytime I enter a new or crowded area -- a royal pain when I'm in a group. I hate that the map is so muddy that I can't tell where I am or how to get where I'm going -- or what's a building and what's open ground at a glance. I hate that I can't get my damn headset to work with the game's interface. I've got one more thing to try, but then I've no idea what to do from there -- with all the problems I'm having put together, playing it makes me feel like an uncoordinated mime. I bought it to play with a friend of mine and be social, but the damned thing isn't cooperating. I haven't given up on it yet, but it is not making itself easy to love. Hrrmph.

Oh, and to random guy X in my group who asked how the cleric died while at full mana? Fuck you, buddy boy. The cleric died because her machine stuttered and she fell into the water and climbed the wrong ladder and got jumped by 4 kobolds with no backup and no way to tell where she was or alert anyone OR cast a spell. Not that a Cure Light Wounds would have done squat but postpone the inevitable. After all, it's fucking cure light wounds.

*pats Moo on the head* I really believe that a good portion of any game problem may indeed lie with the user and not the game in general. There are a lot of people who like D&D Online, and I suspect that with a better computer, I'd find the experience at least a bit more fun. I don't have a better computer, though, and so I must make do with what I have.
