So today I worked from home (and various errand-like locations) since the boys' summer program had ended and David was at PAX.
Took a little while in the middle of the day to run down to the University, wherein I took care of some administrative tasks -- namely getting my student ID and some of my books. :) Thus far it appears that while I may have a number of books before all is said and done, they'll all be normal books and not OMG-how-much-does-this-cost-again? books. This makes me quite pleased.
The boys were with me, and we did quite a bit of walking around. I went in the building my classes will be in, passed by my advisor and said hello, found my way around the library ground floor, walked over to the bookstore, and just generally familiarized myself and them with the place. I still feel overwhelmed by it all, but oddly buying books made it all seem a little more managable, more of a feeling like I can actually do this rather than "can't sleep, school will eat me."
In other news, I'm making an effort to clean up my diet, and I'm reminded exactly how expensive it is not to eat crap. Gah. I can manage it if it's just me, but for me and the boys.... eeesh. We'll see how long I can swing it.
Oh, and in case it comes up, happy Labor Day everyone. I hope your labors are not too intensive and that you have time this 3-day weekend to catch your breath. :)
