Merry Virtual Christmas!

Okay, so here's the truth of the matter: I love buying presents for people.

I love giving people stuff that suits them. I love taking the time to grab stuff that says, "This is for X!" where X is someone I know and am fond of. I love feeling like a svelter, more attractive version of Santa Claus and making everyone I know really, really happy to know that someone thought of them. I love these things even more than getting stuff (and I love getting cool stuff).

Of course, the other side of buying stuff for everyone I know is that it would require a HUGE amount of money, especially since I started freelancing and the number of friends and people I would love to get stuff for expanded exponentially. With this in mind, I wish to start a new tradition: the virtual Christmas gift.

Here's how this is going to work. If you would like a virtual present, post here and let me know. Naturally, if I don't know you well, it won't be quite as cool a gift, whereas if I know you I'll see if I can find something uber-perfect. I'll post a link to the website with the item in question and/or a picture thereof. This will then be what I would have gotten for you had I the money to do so. :) And, of course, the best thing about virtual presents is that there's no shipping, no lines to stand in, and no guilt! Presents Away!!!

Virtual gifts are the best thing. None of that BS of cost limit, availability limit thrown in to muddle matters. (Or lack of dexterity for the created at home gifts... ;)

I could not tell you why, but when I saw these things, I thought of you. Not so much the purple, probably more the topaz, but still. I think they rock. :)
