I have the attention span of a small, attentionless thing right now, but I'm still here and either drugged and spacy or non-drugged and hurty (no fair guessing which I was when I posted this). Either way, no one has come to check on me in two days, and while I'm actually okay enough not to need it, I'm still lonely. So if you read this journal, write a comment, preferably something cheerful and happy and non-disaster/politically related right now as I have no good coping skills and do not wish to be upset and sad.

Date: 2005-09-04 06:54 am (UTC)From:This is proving slightly more difficult than I originally imagined, mostly because I limited myself a bit by taking the "Teen Team", so I have some restrictions on which characters to use. Sure, I could "cheat" a little, and simply use an earlier, younger version of a character, but I want to avoid that. I could also take an older hero as a "Mentor", but again, want to stay within my limits.
We have both DC and Marvel available, because we're setting this in a big "amalgamated" world where everything from both is available for us to use. It's kinda funny, cause when I started, I could think of a lot more "Current" Teen DC characters than I could Marvel. But once I strated digging and working up a pool of characters to draft from, I found there were a LOT more Marvel chars I wanted to use than DC. Probably comes from being a Marvel Zombie growing up, and being semi-unfamiliar with DC outside of the "big" names and certain characters/groups I've actually read up on or followed. I know a hell of a lot more trivial Marvel background.
Plus there comes the problem of finding the rigt team dynamics. You don't want to duplicate powers too much, and you want to fill certain roles. And that can be difficult. I'm breaking another of my self-imposed rules and probably drafting a relatively new character to fill my "Magic Support" role. The character seems cool, but he's only been in a couple comics so far and there's very little actual background on him so far. But I can't really find another teen character that I like to fit in.
And finally, I'm somewhat at a loss as to what the goal of group will be, why they're together, and who their major villain(s) should be. I have an inkling of how to get a couple characters together, thanks to a last minute "Roster change", hopefully. Since it's a draft, there's always the chance someone could snag my pick first. I got my "Big" names pretty quick, namely Superboy and Robin. Jubilee is another that might get snagged by someone else, but I'm still not certain I'm going to take her. I think the last minute change above is replacing her.
Ahh well, once I start working up the story a bit, I'll post in my LJ as well as on RPGnet :]
